Systems for fire suppression with foam

Foam as a fire extinguishing agent can be chemical or mechanical. The second one has been used a lot more lately. It consists of bubbles of synthetic and protein extracts filled with air. The extinguishing action is partly suppressing partly cooling.

Depending on the ratio of extracts of water and air, there are:

heavy foams (6 – 20 foams),

medium foam (20 – 200 foams),

light foams (200 – 1000 foams).
